The Language of Flowers

The Language of Flowers celebrates flowers and the stories that have been told about them through the ages. Master storyteller Diane Edgecomb brings to life the legends that surround favorite garden flowers revealing the deep meaning cultures around the world have found there. Harp accompaniment by Margot Chamberlain. This event is free and open to the public.

 

The Winter Solstice in Story and Song

Friday, December 20 and Saturday, December 21, 7:30-9:30 pm

Celebrate the longest nights with Solstice stories and songs evoking the warmth of the season. Oracle award-winning storyteller Diane Edgecomb, accompanied by Celtic harper Margot Chamberlain and multi-instrumentalist Tom Megan, weaves together a tapestry of ancient tales and tunes revealing the deep meaning behind winter holiday traditions. This theatrical storytelling features the Scandinavian “Legend of the Mistletoe,” evergreen myths and legends of light all complemented by folkloric music and songs from many lands. Enjoy the communal fun of Wassail traditions! Complimentary seasonal refreshments including a traditional Wassail bowle of mulled cider are included in the price of admission.

Admission:
$25 early bird prices until December 10th.
$30 per person after December 10th.

(Please note that Friday and Saturday evening have two acts with refreshments at intermission and the Sunday event is an afternoon matinee with refreshments following.)
